EXPECTATIONS ®

A PREGNANCY EXERCISE CLASS - Wednesday 18.30hrs

THE KENILWORTH CENTRE

A specialised alternative to Pregnancy Yoga or Pregnancy Pilates, this one hour fitness & toning class is designed specifically for pregnant women by a midwife.

Adaptable to all stages of pregnancy and fitness levels, the rolling programme is provided in blocks of six weeks and evolves as pregnancy progresses, accommodating changing need.  

A gentle warm up including suitable stretches is followed by a carefully controlled cardiovascular work up and work down using intervals of CV and toning exercises. Core muscles and Pelvic Floor are given particular attention. Each session ends with a short “relaxation in preparation for birth” exercise, before a final stretch. Relaxed and casual with plenty of pregnancy chat, the class is both friendly and professional. It is not choreographed to music and maximum group size is eighteen. Suitable from the sixteenth week of pregnancy. First sessions are a taster at £10 to ensure suitability.

The national 2013-14 Caesarean section rate was 26.2%. For regularly participating “EXPECTATIONS ” group members it was approximately 5-8%.                                               PRICES BELOW

 A POSTNATAL EXERCISE CLASS

  THURSDAYS 11.00hrs KENILWORTH

CASTLE FARM & ABBEY FIELDS   

A weekly one hour fitness & toning session for mothers with baby in a buggy. An enjoyable, sociable and safe way to gradually work on fitness levels at a comfortable pace. This “Buggy fit” style session helps to establish a routine of postnatal exercise in the fresh air. Use of the indoor sports hall is available on “Poor Weather” days all year round.                                                  

Suitable from six weeks following vaginal birth and twelve weeks following caesarean birth.                                      

SMALL PRIVATE GROUPS & INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

Private 6 week packages are available for small postnatal groups of 6-8 mothers with their babies. Motivational work and support remain the key elements of all Phys-ogue sessions, but arranging your own exclusive group allows you to focus on what matters most to you! Arrange your own group and choose your own local park.
